About
South Knoxville offers a quirky personality with lots of charm!
South Knoxville is just across the river and is easily accessible to the downtown area via the Henley Street Bridge or I-40. Slightly off the beaten path, South Knoxville neighborhoods provide a more tranquil, scenic Knoxville lifestyle. This area is predicted to experience many changes as the South Knoxville Riverfront Development project gets underway. Here you will find our Urban Wilderness, the Dogwood Trail community, Ijams Nature Center, Island Home Park, Tennessee School for the Deaf (TSD), and Gary Underwood Park. Another recent addition to this area is Suttree Landing Park, with beautiful riverfront views perfect for playtime or a picnic with family and friends.
A mixture of historic and new construction homes can be found in this area that is close enough to Knoxville staples such as Ye Olde Steakhouse, King Tut's Grill, and Sweet Pea's Barbeque and Soul House, but far enough to enjoy scenic views. Then there's the more recently developed area along Sevier Ave. that leads into the historic Island Home neighborhood. Here you'll find Honeybee Coffee, Alliance Brewing Company and just a short drive away, SoKno Taco Cantina.
